Jennifer Robichaud
Artistic Director/Choreographer/Performer


Holding an Honours BFA from York University, Jennifer Robichaud has had extensive dance training in many disciplines, specializing in jazz and contemporary forms.  Jennifer co-founded Larchaud Dance Project in 2004 and currently holds the position as Artistic Director.  Her performance credits include LDP productions (Caution/07:Danceworks CoWorks Presentation, SHINJIRU/06, Stript Bare/05), Beats Breaks and Culture/09, Nuit Blanche/07/08, Junction Arts Festival/07/08, Confluence/08 and Dans/cekapital Festival/07 (Anandam Dance), Fringe Shanghai/06, TIDF/06, Wintercity Festival/06, Dusk Dances/03 (Suzanne Miller), fFIDA/04/05/06, and commercial work.  Jennifer was a featured choreographer on the Gemini nominated documentary series Freedom which
airs on Bravo.  Presently, Jennifer teaches at Gotta Dance, The York School (guest), and resides as the guest adjudicator on the entrance jury to St. Elizabeth Secondary School's Regional Arts Program.  Jennifer is a member of Dance Ontario.

Jase Cozmic 

Performer /Choreographer

 

 


A founding member of Intrikit Break Dance Crew, Jase has since expanded his talents and repetoire to include African dance, choreography, and electronic music composition.  Performance and choreographic credits include Caution: LDP, Nuit Blanche/07/08, Junction Arts Festival/07/08, Fringe Shanghai, TIDF-Urban Matinee and Gala Event, Shinjiru: LDP, Wintercity Festival/06, fFIDA/05, The ROOTS, Citizen Kane, Choclair, Beastie Boys, Tribe Called Quest, Raptors Half Time Show, Raptors Dance Pac (choreographer), and Blues Brothers 2000 (film) to name a few.  Jase apprenticed with COBA in 2003/04, and he is currently a performer, choreographer, and instructor with Larchaud Dance Project.  In addition to his teaching with LDP, Jase instructs at many Toronto studios, and is a guest instructor at various schools.

 

 

Mayumi Lashbrook
Performer
 

Mayumi began dancing at the age of 4; recreationally, competitvely, and academically.  Since then, she has danced continuously and performed in a large variety competitions, showcases, and street festivals.  Mayumi graduated with honours from the Claude Watson School for the Arts, and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Performance Dance at Ryerson University.  She has studied under artists such as Vicky St. Denis, Louis Laberge Cote, Rex Harrington, Peggy Baker, and Kimberley Glasco.  Mayumi became an apprentice member of Larchaud Dance Project in 2006, performing in Beats Breaks and Culture/09, Nuit Blanche/08, Junction Arts Festival/07/08, and their full-length production of CAUTION/07. 

Robyn Alfonso

Robyn Alfonso is a graduate of York Univeristy's Dance Program.  Classically trained, Robyn was first introduced to modern dance when she attended Cardial Carter Academy for the Arts.  Robyn has performed in Beats Breaks and Culture/09, Birthing New Dendrite/09 (Parahumans Dance), Choreographies of Migration (Sashar Zarif) Choreographer's Ball/08 (LDP), Anthology/08 (Tracey Norman), CAUTION:LDP, Junction Arts Festival/07/08 (LDP), Nuit Blanche/07 (Yvonne Ng), /08 (LDP), AfriCanadian Playwright's Festival/06, and Toronto International Dance Festival/06.  This is Robyn's third season with Larchaud Dance Project. 

 



Ryan Lee

Marie France Forcier
Performer/Guest Choreographer

Marie F. Forcier is the artistic director of Forcier Stage Works (www.forcierstageworks.com). Born and raised in Montreal, Canada, Marie gained a Sociology DEC degree and she is a scholarship recipient from CEGEP de Saint-Laurent’s dance program. In 2001, she co-founded the award winning collective Si pailles Si rondes with which she toured throughout France and Quebec until 2003. She is also a graduate from The School of Toronto Dance Theatre. Marie has created works that have been presented in: Toronto, CA (Harbourfront Center, Series 8:08, fFIDA/TIDF, In a White Room, Parahumans Dance Theatre), Vancouver, CA (Judith Marcuse Dance Projects), Montreal, CA (Studio 303), Quebec City, CA (Correspondanse), New York City, USA (Dance Theatre Workshop), Shanghai, China (The Larchaud Dance Project) and soon Victoria, CA (ROMP). In the last year, she created and produced Nucleus, as a part of DanceWorks CoWorks 2006-7 and has been re-invited to be part of the CoWorks programming for 2007-8 with a new production.  Marie has also worked as a performer for several choreographers and taught modern technique at McMaster University. She has directed and performed extensively with the Canadian based company KOBA (Children dance-theatre productions) in Dubai, UAE, Beirut, Lebanon and across Canada and the USA. Marie recently returned from sharing a choreographic residency with nine other hi-caliber dance artists from seven countries at OMI (New York, USA). She is a member of the Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists, Dance Ontario and DTRC.

Zhenya Cerneacov
Performer

Born in 1986, in Chisinau, Moldova, Zhenya grew up in a household of musicians and from an early age developed a great passion for the arts.  After studying ballroom dance for nine years, he was invited to become a member of Moldova’s renowned Show Ballet Theodor where his versatility in a range of dance styles had a chance to shine. In 2006 Zhenya arrived in Canada where quickly became an active member of the contemporary dance scene.  

He has been featured in the works of a number of companies including; AKA Dance Projects, Bouchardanse, Cadence , City Dance Corps, Corpus, Danny Grossman Dance Company, Tilt Sound+Motion, Menaka Thakkar Dance Company, Kaha:wi Dance Theatre. For the past two years he has been a core member of the Dusk Dances touring company.

 

Aaron Water
Performer

Aaron Water has performed, danced, and busked on the streets of Maryland, Montreal, New York City, Buffalo, and Toronto.  He is a modern and hip hop dancer, mime, and entertainer.  He draws  on ballet, martial arts and African dance , as well as situational physical and spoken comedy, to smile up audiences for ages 9 months and up.  Aaron's performance credits include Junction Arts Festival /09 (Toronto), Albright Knox Art Gallery, (Buffalo, NY), Kollaboration Showcase (Tororonto), House Dance Internation Comp (NYC), Musi is Art (Buffalo, NY), Elmwood Arts Festival (Buffalo, NY), "First Night Dover" (Dover, DE), Six Flags (Baltimore MD).  He was awarded the title of "Best Genre-Defying Artist " in Artvoice, New York's wekkly paper.

Recently, Aaron has been featured in his own work with OMO Dance's "Urban Project", International Dance Day, Coexisdance, COLab Inmprov Showdown, and Hot Soup.  He currently works with Larchaud Dance Project.

Amy Hampton
Performer
 

Amy Hampton is a graduate of L'École Supérieure de Danse du Québec, affliated with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal, where she was a member of Le Jeune Ballet du Québec. Since moving to Toronto in 1999, she has been a featured member of The Chimera Project, performing with the company at many venues including the Canada Dance Festival. As a member of CORPUS, Amy had the opportunity to tour extensively throughout Europe and to Singapore performing in an array of festivals. She has worked with Kaeja d'Dance as both a performer and a teacher of the company's Express Dance method. Independently, she has originated roles in works by Robert Desrosiers, Kathleen Rea, Yvonne Ng, William Yong, Lydia Wagerer, Brandy Leary and Lincoln Shand. Her film credits include the dance films Old Country and A Day at the Office and she has appeared in music videos by recording artists Feist and The Swallows. As Co-Artistic Director of AKA Dance, Amy has choreographed for the stage and the street and created an innovative educational program that brings contemporary dance and music to young students. In addition to her work as a performer, Amy is active in the community as a teacher, rehearsal director and administrator.
